You're a graphic designer AND illustrator? What is the difference?
A graphic designer arranges text and images into compelling visuals. Nowadays, that's mostly done with the aid of design software.
An illustrator starts with a blank canvas and builds imagery sketched out by hand.
Since I do both, I live in the rare sweet spot where illustration and graphic design overlap. In other words, I'm a bonafide unicorn. 🙂
Do you use AI?
I do NOT use generative AI to create my character art or custom illustrations. That's done entirely by hand, either with old-fashioned pencil and paper or digital software. When working digitally, I rotate between Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Fresco, and Procreate. I also have access to Adobe Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint if the project calls for it.
I may use generative AI solely to create mock-ups for presentation purposes, allowing clients to visualize their brand in action.
What are your rates?
Starting rates are listed in my current packages section to help you budget accordingly. However, please note your project will be quoted based on the details and deliverables we agree upon.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, I offer payment plans for projects over $1000. Please read my service policy as I go into this subject matter in greater detail.
Will I be able to talk to you on the phone?
Of course. You'll be invited to schedule a call prior to booking my services. Once booked I offer an initial 1 hour brand strategy session and will hold office hours throughout the duration of the project.
Do you take on personal commissions?
Not often but when I do it's announced to subscribers of my mailing list at TheDynaSmiles.com. I release commissioned art on fun to have items like journals, mugs and graphic tees. Please join the list if you'd like to be notified.
